Sony Donates $80,000 in Equipment

JUNE 1, 2001 The Middle East office of Sony Broadcast
and Professional, the leading manufacturer of broadcast equipment in the world,
has announced a donation of $80 thousand worth of equipment, which will be their
contribution to the digitalization of the Adham Center studio facilities.
In recognition of this particular donation, as well as Sony's
past support, a large room that includes a studio, two Sony edit pack suites,
and a videotape library will be officially designated the Sony Studio at a ceremony
to take place in the fall.
With this donation, plus a matching order from the Adham Center,
the Sony Studio will be almost entirely digitalized. The audio facilities will
be digitalized the following year.
This is not Sony's first significant donation to the Adham
Center. Ten years ago the company also donated $80 thousand worth of equipment,
which was acknowledged by the establishment of the Sony
Gallery for Photography, an integral part of the Adham Center.
Hassan Ghoul, general manager of sales for Sony Broadcast and
Professional's Middle East office, emphasized the strong relationship between
Sony and the Adham Center that lies behind the donation.
"Sony truly appreciates the Adham Center's contribution
to broadcasting in the region, and we have been collaborating with the Adham Center
since its very beginnings.
"We look forward to many more years of close cooperation,
so it was only natural that if the Adham Center needed help in digitalizing its
facilities, they could turn to Sony."
