The event was hosted by public relations and advertising guru Galal Zaki, who invited Abdallah Schleifer, director of the Adham Center to address the gathering.

Schleifer expressed his pleasure at meeting with people who joined the Adham Center graduate program and as well as other Journalism ands Mass Communication alumni. "Sometimes I get very tired teaching the same thing for 17 years. It has been tiresome and whenever I leave AUC to guest lecture in Europe or America I do not talk about Journalism and Mass communication unless it's unavoidable. Generally I prefer to talk about anything else. But I must confess that one recurrent satisfaction in my life that makes it all seem worthwhile is a moment like this when somebody who was a student at the Adham Center comes back and he or she is working in television, print or teaching journalism and is a great success," Professor Schleifer said.

Dr. Hussein Amin, who is both chairman of the Journalism and Mass Communication department and senior associate of the Adham Center in his remarks described the alumni present as his "extended family." Dr. Amin reminded the gathering that they are playing a significant role in the information age.
