Enas Shafik El Shinawy ('90) Selected
as Student Advisor
Enas El Shinawy ('90) was invited by the Career Advising and Placement
Services to advise students and graduates wishing to work in TV production
and broadcasting in the Career Mart held at the American University
in Cairo February 28.
Career Mart is an annual event in which students and graduates have
the opportunity to seek advice from successful professionals, who provide
students with first-hand knowledge in their areas of expertise. Students
are able to gather information about everything from expected salaries
to companies that are hiring, and are directed how to begin searching
for a job.
El Shinawy was chosen to attend because of her distinguished performance
in her field as well as on the educational level. She graduated from
the American University in Cairo (AUC) with highest honors in 1988,
receiving a BA in Mass Communication and a minor in Computer Science.
Two years later, she earned her masters degree in Mass Communication
from Adham Center, where she specialized in Television Journalism.
El Shinawy now is head of the field reports department for Orbit's
show, Ala Al Hawa, hosted by Emad El Din Adeeb. She formerly
was the production coordinator. El Shinawy joined Orbit in 2002 and
has since been responsible for providing the network with stories for
discussion as well as the top daily news.
